VIDEO TRANSCRIPT
There are 4 types of gondola cages depending on the 4 types of secondary safety systems:
- TYPE 1: Manual system using chains. The stevedore must manually connect the cage to the spreader using an internal ladder.
- TYPE 2: Lever system. A lever located in one of the gondolas is operated by the stevedore to activate the mechanism for anchoring the cage to the spreader.
- TYPE 3: Automatic mechanical activation system. Same as type 2, but in this case the safety mechanism is activated mechanically and without direct intervention by the stevedore.
- TYPE 4: Fully automatic system. The safety mechanism is activated autonomously and electrically, without the need for human intervention.
