A stevedore cage is a metal structure designed to ensure the safety of people during unloading operations. Lifted by a crane, it allows stevedores to access and safely handle twistlocks during the arrival of vessels in port.

When used for work at height, the stevedore cage must comply with very strict regulations and pass rigorous manufacturing, material traceability and final certification controls.

These cages save lives. They provide a safe working environment and minimise risks in potentially dangerous scenarios. Thanks to their use, dangerous practices and customs that were commonplace in port operations for years have been eliminated.
